We were absolutely delighted to welcome competitors from across Europe to Whitby over the weekend for the British Coastal Rowing Championships. Rowers from Italy, Germany, Ireland and beyond joined us for two days of wet and wild racing for history books.

32 clubs put 226 entries in making for a packed beach and a whole lot of action!

Wild conditions stopped play on Saturday leading to a jam packed Sunday of intense racing!

As a successful river rowing duo, Harry and Henry adapted brilliantly to the rigours of the sea to bring home a glorious British Silver medal in the Junior Mens Double.

The Whitby womens 50 plus masters quad were joined by Leslie Flowerdew to score an impressive Silver medal. A first coastal race for Rebecca Smith and Emma Cassie, showing that years of Whitby Gig rowing comes in quite useful!
